Our Story

1996

FSI’s journey began in 1996 as a family-owned acoustical systems company, led by brothers Frank and Sal Imburgia. Initially collaborating with various general contractors, FSI soon realized they could enhance project management by assuming the role of general contractor themselves, while leveraging their acoustical expertise.

2008

By 2008, FSI became a leading general contractor in Rochester and the surrounding areas. With both the general construction and acoustical systems divisions excelling.

2009

Expanded out real estate portfolio and division.

2011

FSI expanded their team and identified the need for a site development division in 2011, to continue fueling its rapid growth, service, and success.

2018

In late 2018, FSI expanded its footprint to the Northeast and Midwest markets. Focused on internal structure and process improvements, FSI paved the way for rapid growth, taking on multi-million-dollar projects across all divisions.

2023

Over the last decade, FSI has expanded its growth in both construction and real estate. FSI remains committed to serving the Greater Rochester community by investing in premier construction and real estate talent, enhancing their comprehensive expertise, and nurturing the long-standing client relationships they’ve developed over the years.

2025

FSI updates branding and website, setting the stage for long-term growth and success.

The Family Crest

The Imburgia Family Crest transcends generations of tradespeople dedicated to building up the people and communities around them. Historically, the Imburgias would display flags with the crest to demarcate the family estate and additional properties. FSI carries this history into the modern century in our logo, as a reminder of our legacy.
